"Low cost, No Frills" is the mantra!!

The newspapers carry headlines almost daily reporting inauguration of Low Cost Carriers, Mid-budget Hotels, Apartment hotels etc. Days have gone when corporates spent lavishly on air travel and hotel stay. With cost-cutting playing a major role in the Corporates' day to day activities, companies now look for avenues to reduce expenses and the first victims falling prey are hotel stays and flight travel. Even CXO's are looking out to cut costs, as any effect in the balance sheet of the company would have an impact on their pay cheques too! Low cost carriers like Air Deccan have a headstart when compared to other proposed carriers, as, by the time the new players enter the field, Air Deccan would have almost gained popularity and learnt the nuances of the tricks. Had the service been poor, it would backfire though, with people opting for new players on the block. Tata has introduced it's mid-budget hotel TataIndiOne in Bangalore thus making a foray into mid budget hotels. Here's a link to what C. K. Prahlad says about IndiOne. The name IndiOne sounds a little funny, but being a Tata product, it would be Indi like Indicom, Indica, Indigo and now IndiOne!!! Anyhow, if people get to save some rupees on low-cost operations, there shouldn't be any compromise on safety and qualilty standards set for the Industry. It's All in the Game!!
