India races ahead!

The number of mobile connections in India outstripped that of the landline connections, thus marking a great phenomenon in History of Communications. On October 23, number of mobile connections (around 43 million) exceeded that of landlines. At present, the numbers are 44 vs 43. It took 50 years to make 43 million landlines while it has taken less than a decade to make 44 in mobiles! Such gadgets and technologies need to be paid attention to and be used for social and economical development. heard somewhere that teledensity plays a crucial role in economic development (10% increase in tele-density increases GDP by 1 percent - don't know how true is this!). There are ambitious targets - 200 million mobiles by 2008. Could we do it this time? (atleast)?
