This is amazing! why don't our Indian scientific community and policy makers think like this? The 100X100 Project in the US plans to network 100 million homes in the US with 100 Mbps connection! That's mind-boggling!!! Key institutions and the industry have stakes and have formed a consortium for execution of these plans. To name a few, AT&T, UCB, Stanford et al. As per the information in the site, it is said that high speed networks need to be the key for easy access to information! Truly a knowledge economy! Let India get some forward thinkers who could implement such scale projects for the benefit of the common men instead of the babus and netas who are always into high sounding words but no performance...
